Who do Republicans keep bringing up one klan member Robert Byrd's name?
Robert Byrd repented long ago and admitted his past mistakes. He has become the Senate's longest serving Senator and a recognized expert on the Constitution, although his age-related infirmities have become severe in recent years. The Republicans have resorted to projecting their own foibles or deficiencies onto others as a way of avoiding personal responsibility, which puts me in mind of two-year-olds trying to stay out of hot water (trouble) by attempting to divert the angry parents' attentions away from their ongoing misdeeds and onto something or someone else. Unwilling to alter bad behaviors, they now attempt to obfue and misdirect media attention away from their deep-seated negative attitudes towards persons of color and their ongoing "conduct unbecoming an American" so they can still appeal to their white supremacist base come election time but also retain a suitable facade to woo minority voters on election day, only to abandon them after the vote is cast. This is one possibility anyway...
