Sims 2 Life Stories question?

in Sims 2 Life Stories i had a baby and a roommate. my roommate was also my lover of some sort and caught me in bed with my baby daddy. so we were fighting a lot so i decided to find my own place but mistakenly left my baby with my roommate when i moved and she is no longer in my care. is there any way to get my baby back?
