I want to transfer my itunes library to new computer?

I tried consolidating the whole library from my old laptop but there is not enough room on the laptop to do this. Is there an alternative way to transfer the entire library. I tried backing up to disc but when i restore it on the new laptop it gives an error message something llike -69
