Am I pregnant?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… =/ HELP?
You might be more fertile than in the past because as you lose weight, your fat cells are shrinking and releasing more estrogen into your blood stream. The increased estrogen can also affect your mood and sleep cycle. Plus, you are more likely to get pregant right before your period is due to start. Bad, bad timing. Get a pregnancy test (or two) and see if they are positive. If so, you need to talk to your surgeon (or his nurse or dietician right away as you might need increased vitamins and supplements for the developing embryo - especially for the brain and nerve cells growing this very minute.) And if you aren't pregnant, for heavens sake use some kind of birth control! Now is NOT a good time to get pregnant because you are missing a lot of nutrients due to the byp part of the surgery. Try being responsible since this isn't all about you - the baby that you might be carrying needs to be protected and given the best start possible and the odds are already stacked against it.
